Krista Hale
Krista graduated from the University of California at Irvine with a BA in
Dance with an emphasis in teaching and a minor in drama. She was chosen to
participate in the UC Irvine’s New York Musical Theater Program where she
studied with Nicole Fosse (Ballet), Susan Stohman (tap), Bob Rizzo (jazz),
Chet Walker (musical theater), Uta Hagen (acting) and Helen Gailager
(voice). She also attended Palomar College where she earned the Dancer of
the Year Award in 1986.
Her professional dance career began at Disneyland as a swing in the circus parade. Some of her favorite musical theater roles include, “Lola” in Damn Yankees, “Panacea” in A Funny Thing Happened..Forum at the Moonlight Amphitheater, “Liane” in Gigi at the Lawrence Welk Theatre, “Gladys” in 42nd Street at the Starlight Theater and a red-headed Indian in Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby at the San Diego Civic Theatre. In addition to musicals, she had danced for Patricia Rincon Dance Collective and traveled with Anaheim Ballet’s Nutcracker performing the roles of Spanish Chocolate, the Mysterious Lady and as a soloist in Waltz of the Flowers. Traveling is one of Krista’s passions. She has had the honor of touring Europe as “Velma” in West Side Story, as a Can-Can dancer in Japan, and the Caribbean as “Cassie” in A Chorus Line on Royal Carribean’s cruise ships (the Nordic Empress and Majesty of the Seas). While at sea, Krista choreographed Sandman for RCCL’s Majesty of the Seas Farewell Show and starred as a magician’s assistant. For the past four Christmas seasons, she has performed as a “Rockette” in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Mexico City, and at the Grand ‘Ol Opry in Nashville, Tenn. During the last 7 years she has performed throughout the United States, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Malaysia, and Canada as a singer/dancer with Imagination Entertainment’s Andrew Lloyd Webber Review, On Broadway Show, USO Tribute and their Cirque Nouveau show along with the world famous circus performers.
Krista enjoys choreographing and teaching dance to students ranging
between the ages of 2 1/2 to adults. She resides in Oceanside with her
wonderful and talented husband, Kim Neblett, and their two beautiful
children Beau and Kayla. This is Krista’s 10th year teaching for Dance
Unlimited.
